Gunfire report puts Pa. school on lockdown

    Authorities in suburban Philadelphia say a report of shots fired near a high school prompted a school lockdown, but police say no injuries were immediately reported.Police in Chester in Delaware County say the report of gunfire in front of Chester High School came in at about 8:30 a.m. Monday.

    Captain Anita Amaro said officers did not immediately find any shell casings nor any injured parties. She said they were checking nearby hospitals.

    Chester High School was placed on lockdown after the report, but officials said the lockdown was lifted shortly afterward.
