Northwest Philadelphia’s Northwest Raiders are heading to the Pop Warner Super Bowl.

On Wednesday, the athletic association’s Division 1 Midget team beat Florida’s Palmetto Raiders 26-20 in double overtime.

The teenage squad won its first game 28-0 over the Chicago Chargers.

The team’s Super Bowl match against Connecticut’s New Britain (Ct.) Raiders is slated for Saturday at noon. The game, held in Disney World, will air nationally on ESPN2.

The Raiders, founded in 1971, have never won a Super Bowl title.

Its home base is the Lonnie Young Recreation Center on East Chelten Avenue in East Germantown, a stone’s throw from both Imhotep Institute Charter and MLK high schools.
