First annual NJ Surfing Hall of Fame induction this weekend in Manasquan

Over 100 years of surfing history in New Jersey will be celebrated at the Saltwater Festival 2015 this Saturday evening at the Algonquin Arts Theatre in Manasquan.

“Jersey Shore surfers from across the globe will be returning home and celebrating a shared history and culture,” said Kris Kopsaftis, the event organizer who operates NJ Surf Show stores in Manasquan and Lavallette.

The newly formed NJ Surfing Hall Of Fame will honor 16 surfers already enshrined in the East Coast Hall Of Fame as charter members, Kopsaftis said.

In addition, a first class of 18 members will be inducted into the NJ Surfing Hall Of Fame.
