Fatal early morning fire in Talleyville

Authorities say a man is dead after a fire broke out at a home in the Talleyville area.

New Castle County officials say firefighters were called to a home on Artwin Road around 4:30 a.m. Thursday and found heavy flames coming from the rear of the home.

Talleyville Fire Company officials say a man was pulled from the burning home suffering from smoke inhalation and burns and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
