Next Saturday, Germantown hair-salon owner Yolanda Keels-Walker will combine music, fashion and hairstyling for a charity event to benefit local youths.

The Fearless Fashion and Hair Showcase will feature child models wearing fashions from several local clothing boutiques.

Hairstyling for the models will be provided by stylists from Keels-Walkers’ Suite Extensions salon, as well as barbers from local barbershops.

Kanye West’s “808s & Heartbreaks” album will serve as the musical backdrop and theme for the runway show.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Melanie Marie Gems and Jewels Mentoring Program, an organization that promotes arts education, cultural exploration and public service among girls between the ages of 10 to 18.

The fashion show will be held at the Suite Extensions Hair Salon at 5622 Germantown Ave. at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22. Tickets cost $15, and can be purchased online or at the door on the day of the event.

Ed note: The event was initially scheduled for Saturday but will now be held Feb. 22.
