Ex-officer charged in Pa. woman’s shooting death

A former southeastern Pennsylvania police officer has been charged with murder in a shooting that killed one woman and injured her teenage daughter.

Thirty-two-year-old Stephen Rozniakowski of Norwood is charged with criminal homicide, first-, second- and third-degree murder and aggravated assault, among other counts.

Authorities allege that the former part-time Colwyn officer killed Valerie Morrow and shot her daughter in the arm shortly after 9 p.m. Monday in their Glenolden home before he was wounded himself by shots from the victim’s husband, a part-time Morton officer.

Officials said Rozniakowski had resigned his position earlier in the day and was served a protection-from-abuse order several hours before the shootings.
