Delaware Rep. Andria Bennett plans legislation to criminalize ‘revenge porn’

A state lawmaker is planning to introduce a bill that would make publication of so-called “revenge porn” a crime in Delaware.
Revenge porn is the term used to describe the practice of posting a nude or sexually explicit photo or video of someone, often a person’s former sex partner, on the Internet without their consent.
The legislation proposed by Rep. Andria Bennett, a Dover Democrat, would make it a misdemeanor for a person to disseminate images of a person, without his or her consent, who is nude or engaged in a sexual act. The offense could be increased to felony if the image was originally obtained without the victim’s consent, is distributed for profit or includes information identifying the person.
