Police are looking for a driver who hit and killed a pedestrian on an I-95 on-ramp from Rt. 1 on Tuesday morning.

The crash happened around 6:45 a.m. on the northbound ramp to I-95 from Rt. 1 near the Christiana Mall. The driver did not stop after hitting the pedestrian who police said was declared dead at the scene.

Northbound Rt. 1 was closed to traffic causing big backups for morning commuters while police investigated the scene.

Police expect to release more information about the incident later today.
