Delaware Police: Newark teenager pulled gun at high school

Two Newark teenage boys have been arrested after police say one of them pulled a gun on another student during an altercation at a Wilmington high school.

According to Delaware State Police, a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old confronted a male student at John Dickinson High School on Oct. 29. Police say the younger boy gave the 17-year-old a handgun to point at the 18-year-old victim while the two were fighting.

Authorities say a bystander then pulled the 18-year-old away from the gun-toting teenager while the 18-year-old’s father stood between his son and the suspect. Police say the two suspects fled in a pickup truck.

Both juveniles were arrested on Friday and face numerous charges, including possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. The boys have since been released on bail.
