Police say the man who lived with a 19-year-old woman, who has been missing since Aug. 31, is now charged in connection with her murder.

Tony Mozick, 21, of Leipsic is facing charges including first degree murder and abusing a corpse.

Delaware State Police were alerted to the discovery of charred human remains that were found by a resident in a wooded area near the 200 block of Denny Street in Leipsic.  Investigators have determined that the remains belonged to Taylor Owens, the teen who’d been missing for about a week.

Police say Mozick killed Owens then moved the body to the wooded area and tried to dispose of the body by burning it.  The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
