Babes in Toyland is a hallmark of the Christmas season: See Tom Piper get kidnapped and sold to Gypsies, while Mary and children of their village rescue him and Christmas. Delaware Children’s Theatre, December 15th and 16th, 2 P.M.

 

 

Holiday Celebration

Bring the whole family to a special holiday-themed show with the Chesapeake Brass Band and A Capella Pops! Formed in 1996, the Chesapeake Silver Cornet Brass Band is comprised of musicians from NJ, PA, MD and DE. Following the brass banding tradition, they are an all-volunteer organization. World Cafe Live at the Queen, December 21st, 7 P.M.

 

Annie

Leapin’ lizards! One of the most acclaimed musicals of the past 35 years will appear on the Smyrna Opera House stage this Christmas. It’s Depression-Era New York City, and Annie is a fiery, young orphan living in a miserable orphanage run by the tyrannical drunkard, Miss Hannigan. Her seemingly hopeless situation dramatically changes when she is selected to spend a week at the residence of the wealthy munitions industrialist, Oliver Warbucks. Smyrna Opera House, December 14th and 15th, 7 P.M., December 16th, 2 P.M.

  

A Christmas Carol

The world’s most well-known holiday story gets a completely new sound, along with a different title, this year at Clear Space! Composer (and CSTC Artistic Director) Doug Yetter is at the forefront once more as the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, journeying through London of past, present and future on a flight of transformation.
