Wilmington police say credit card skimmers have been found on two pumps at a gas station.

Officers say on Friday, a worker performing maintenance found the skimmers on the credit card readers at two pumps at the Shell station at 4201 N. Market St.Skimmers record and relay credit card information to third parties, which is then used to make fraudulent purchases.

Detectives don’t know how long the skimmers were in place.

Police say anyone who made a credit or debit card transaction at the gas station should check their statements. If there are discrepancies, customers should notify their banks and the police.
