The Coast Guard has rescued three stranded jet skiers near Wildwood.

Officials say the three people left a marina on two jet skis Monday afternoon. When they failed to return, New Jersey State Police investigated and notified the Coast Guard.

A Coast Guard helicopter crew spotted the missing jet skiers around midnight and directed a boat crew to their location. Nearly six hours after they were expected to return, the jet skiers arrived safely back at the marina with both jet skis in tow.

The Coast Guard says the jet skis were disabled after they sucked up sand while in shallow water.
