Coast Guard aids woman hurt when boat runs aground

The Coast Guard came to the aid of a woman who was injured in a boating accident in southern New Jersey.

The 61-year-old woman, whose name was not released, suffered injuries to her collar bone and back when the 28-foot boat ran aground near Wildwood on Saturday. No other injuries were reported, and authorities did not say whether anyone else was in the boat with the woman.

A boat crew from Coast Guard Station Cape May took the woman to the Schooner Island Marina, where emergency crews were waiting for her. Further details on her condition were not available Sunday.

The accident remains under investigation.
