Christie to meet with Canadian Prime Minister

Gov. Chris Christie will meet with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper during the second and final day of his trade mission to the country.

The potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate will begin Friday in the Canadian capital of Ottawa.

Christie will spend the morning meeting with Harper and members of his cabinet. He’ll lay a wreath at the National War Memorial, where a soldier was killed by a gunman who then stormed Canada’s Parliament before he was gunned down.

Christie then heads to Toronto, the financial heart of Canada, where he’ll pitch business leaders on why they should invest in New Jersey.

The trip is Christie’s second out of the country in recent months. It gives him a chance to build his foreign policy credentials.
