Camden girl charged with killing 13-year-old

A 17-year-old girl has been arrested in the separate shootings of two teenagers, including a 13-year-old boy who became the first homicide victim of the year in Camden.

Prosecutors on Wednesday charged the girl with murder in the death of Nathaniel Plummer Jr. earlier this month. Nathaniel was found shot on a sidewalk Jan. 7, and he died hours later Jan. 8.

The girl surrendered Jan. 9 to face attempted murder and other charges stemming from an Oct. 30 shooting that left a 19-year-old man wounded. She has been held at a juvenile detention facility since then.

Authorities say ballistic evidence from the bullets linked the girl to both shootings.
