Broad Street Line voice as mysterious as ever

    She’s blunt, she’s friendly and she’s not speaking in a Philadelphia accent. The recorded voice of SEPTA’s Broad Street and Market-Frankford lines is known not for its tenure, but its strange pronouncements. Some are pondering whether the voice is getting a bit clearer.

    Philadelphia Speaks member “Winthorpe” noticed a change in the accent yesterday while on the Broad Street Line. Others have chimed in with suggestions, including one to have local celebrities do the voice overs.
