AAA: New Jersey gas prices fall for 1st time in months

After weeks of increases, motorists are seeing slightly lower prices at the pumps in New Jersey.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in the state on Friday was $2.07, down two cents from last week. Motorists last year were paying $2.51.

Pump prices had risen for 10 straight weeks in New Jersey, but AAA says it’s possible prices have begun to stabilize as refineries increase production to meet record demand.

The national average price on Friday was $2.21, down 1 cent from last week. Last year’s national average was $2.67.
