A murder confession shortly after New Castle County woman is found dead [video]

A Newark man has been arrested after he confessed to the murder of a 55-year-old Hockessin woman he allegedly stalked for three years.
New Castle County Police connected 21-year-old Christopher Frick to the stabbing death of 55-year-old Caroline Ekong just a half hour after she was discovered slain inside of her home.
Frick confessed to the crime. Investigators said the incident happened inside the victim’s home located in the Sanford Ridge development. Ekong was found by her daughter.
Shortly after Frick’s confession, detectives collected evidence and learned that he was very familiar with the victim through a professional interaction.
According to an unconfirmed source, that professional interaction was a therapist and patient relationship. Police could not confirm due to the ongoing investigation.
However, police did say the crime was a planned attack. Frick has since been charged with first degree murder, home invasion and burglary. He’s being held at the Howard Young Correctional Institution without bail.
