76ers want helipad, big signs at Camden facility
The Philadelphia 76ers are planning to install a helipad and two large signs on the practice facility and offices the team is planning to build in Camden.
The Courier-Post of Cherry Hill reports the developer for the waterfront site has included the details in an application to the city’s planning board, which is scheduled to consider the team’s designs on Monday.
In June, New Jersey approved $82 million in tax breaks over 10 years to move the 76ers’ headquarters and 250 jobs from Philadelphia.
The team would still play its games in Philadelphia.
The preliminary plans submitted to local officials call for a 4,000-square-foot sign with letters up to 9 feet high on the 3-story office building and a 1,000-square-foot sign on the practice building.
