5-year-old boy falls down well in suburban Philadelphia

A 5-year-old boy is recovering after police say he fell into a well in the backyard of his suburban Philadelphia home.

Firefighters were called out to the scene at around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday in Buckingham Township. Authorities say the boy was standing on a sealed well when it gave way, sending him tumbling into the 15-foot-deep well.

Firefighters say they rescued the boy using a rope and ladder.

The boy was taken to St. Mary Medical Center with minor injuries and was released Tuesday night.
