3 killed in murder suicide in Montgomery County

A shooting has left three people dead inside a suburban Philadelphia home in an apparent murder-suicide, authorities said Monday.

Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman and Hatfield Township Police Chief William J. Tierney said police responded to a reported shooting at a home in Hatfield around 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

Arriving officers found the bodies of a 48-year-old woman and her 28-year-old son. Both had multiple gunshot wounds. The body of 48-year-old Paul Marshall was found nearby holding a semi-automatic rifle. After Monday’s autopsy, his death was ruled a suicide.

A 27-year-old woman and a 4-year-old child were at the home and unharmed.
