2nd Philadelphia boy in week dies from hit-and-run injuries

Police say a 2-year-old boy has died days after a hit-and-run driver struck him and his mother as they crossed a Philadelphia street.

Police say David Alicea Jr. was pronounced dead at 1:38 a.m. Thursday at St. Christopher’s Hospital.

He’s the second child to die in a hit-and-run crash this week in Philadelphia.

Police say Alicea’s 19-year-old mother was holding him when they were hit around 7 p.m. Monday in the city’s Kensington section.

Police say they’ve been contacted by a lawyer for the driver in that case and have located a vehicle.
