Youth surrenders in Germantown shooting death of 13-year-old

Authorities say a 15-year-old boy has turned himself in after a 13-year-old boy was fatally shot in the face in Germantown while a group was playing with a gun.

Philadelphia police spokeswoman Officer Tanya Little said Thursday that the teen surrendered, but no charges have been filed in the Wednesday night shooting.

Police say the pair was with a group of “several juveniles” playing with a gun in the backyard of a home when the 13-year-old was shot.

He was pronounced dead at a Philadelphia hospital at 6 p.m.
