14th Police District: Where police catch people trying to remove PPA boots from cars

Feb. 5, 2012

2100 block 65th Ave. – Complainant said someone shot at him from a car at the location. He said he had an argument and physical fight at a bar several minutes before the shots were fired.

1900 block 71st Ave. – 100 CDs were stolen from a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am.

4900 block Sheldon St. – Complainant said a known offender hit her with a shovel before fleeing.

200 block W. Tulpehocken St. – Framed window stolen from the property.

Feb. 6, 2012

5500 block Blakemore St. – A man was murdered. Police found the complainant unresponsive while responding to a call of gunshots. Complainant was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:18 a.m.

Stenton Ave./Vernon Road – Complainant said three men attacked him from behind and robbed him. Offenders ran off with $20.

1700 block Wynsam St. – 40-inch TV, Kindle Fire, Nook tablet and an IBM Think Pad were stolen from the property.

1800 block Plymouth St. – Jewelry box, jewelry and a gold watch were stolen from the property.

5600 block Crowson St. – Complainant said that her husband cut her with an unknown object during an altercation. Offender fled, but soon stopped and was arrested. Complainant was taken to the hospital.

6900 block McCallum St. – Xbox and a Playstation game system were stolen from the property.

5900 block Greene St. – Copper tubing stolen from the property.

Unit block E. Durham St. – iTablet netbook stolen from the property.

8600 block Temple Road – 40-inch Phillips TV, three bottles of liquor, wallet, social security card, Access card and an insurance card were stolen from the property.

500 block Wadsworth Ave. – 50-inch Panasonic TV, two computers, acoustic guitar, Samsung cell phone, violin case, jewelry, foreign currency, $40 and perfumes were stolen from the property.

Feb. 7, 2012

6100 block Stenton Ave. – A small fire was set outside a second floor classroom at the location. The flames were extinguished quickly and no injuries or property damage was reported. The incident was deemed arson. Three offenders were caught on camera. One of them was arrested.

2400 block 80th St. – Complainant said two men robbed him at gunpoint at the location. He said he was hit in the face and head with a handgun after he tried to grab the gun from one of the offenders. Offenders fled in a 2006 Infiniti i30 with a leather jacket and $250.

E. Washington Lane/Clearview St. – Magellan GPS, 10-inch color TV and $5 stolen from the property.

Chew Ave./Cliveden St. – Complainant said two men robbed him at gunpoint. Offenders fled with an iPhone, Cricket phone and a pair of earphones.

6100 block Morton St. – Air conditioner and heating unit stolen from the property.

500 block Murdoch Road – Earrings, engagement ring, 27-inch monitor, camera, necklaces, laptop and power cords were stolen from the property.

Feb. 8, 2012

6100 block of Stenton Ave. – Laptop computer stolen from a high school at the location.

7500 block Woolston Ave. – Clothing, hair dryer and a converter box were stolen from the property.

7300 block Germantown Ave. – Generator, blower and trash cans were stolen from the property.

Unit block E. Gravers Lane – Complainant said two men robbed the house at gunpoint. Complainant said the offenders pushed their way in after one of his friend’s answered a knock at the door. Offenders ran off with house keys, wallet, cell phone, ID and $250. Complainant said they may have fled in a Lincoln.

Feb. 9, 2012

6200 block Clearview St. – Two men were arrested after police caught them in the act of removing a Parking Authority boot from a car.

1300 block Haines St. – iPod and a GPS were stolen from a 2008 Chevy Impala.

8800 block Germantown Ave. – Complainant said she was raped by a stranger.

Feb. 10, 2012

500 block E. Walnut Lane – Dell laptop stolen from the property.

100 block E. Springer St. – 2012 Toyota Corolla stolen.

200 block Montana St. – Two men’s watches, Fuji camera and two credit cards were stolen from the property.

5900 block Germantown Ave. – Complainant said a customer stole her iPhone after ditching the bill after getting her hair done at the location.

6900 block Lincoln Drive – Two floor sanders, two drills, spray gun, ladders, chop saw, hammer drill and more stolen from a car.

Feb. 11, 2012

1400 block E. Washington Lane – 2009 Dodge Charger stolen. Complainant said the car contained an iPhone.

8100 block Temple Road – Complainant said a known offender threw a bear coin bank at her. Officers placed the offender into custody.

2100 block E. Walnut Lane – Complainant said someone broke out the front passenger window of his 2001 Ford Taurus.

7000 block Woolston Ave. – Two handguns and a rifle stolen from the property.

7600 block Ogontz Ave. – A man was murdered. Complainant was shot in the chest during an altercation outside of a bar at the location.

6200 block Germantown Ave. – Complainant said a man robbed a drugstore at gunpoint. Offender fled with $500.

6800 block Chew Ave. – Complainant said a known offender struck her in the left hand with a hammer. Offender was taken into custody.

Unit block E. Seymour St. – Laptop and a 32-inch flat-screen TV were stolen from the property.

8000 block Provident St. – 2005 Ford Freestyle stolen.

8800 block Seminole St. – Can of dimes, can of Chinese coins, can of costume jewelry and a canvas bag were stolen from the property.

8600 block Fayette St. – Complainant said her boyfriend slammed her into a table, put a knife to her neck and threatened to kill her during an argument about breaking up.

Unit block W. Bells Mill Road – Two American Express cards were stolen from a car. More than $25000 was charged on the cards.
