1 killed, several injured in Kensington apartment blaze

A man has died after jumping from a second-story window during a fire at a Philadelphia apartment building.

At least three other people were hurt in the fire around 6 a.m. Monday at the three-story building in the city’s Kensington section.

Firefighters say a 52-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man fell or jumped from the second floor window.

A 30-year-old man and a child were also among the injured.

Firefighters brought the fire under control around 7 a.m. They say 18 people have been displaced by the fire.

Firefighters say the apartment building didn’t appear to have working smoke detectors.The cause of the fire is under investigation.
