Mayor Cherelle Parker said she will present a legislative package to City Council for approval on a new 76ers arena to be developed in Center City.

State officials are offering up a buffet of graphic renderings to woo the Philadelphia 76ers in the team’s plan for a new arena.

Billed as a “listening session,” the town hall event drew nearly 1,000 people to the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

The meeting comes as the team negotiates with the administration, and opponents ramp up efforts to defeat the development.

The $1.55 billion development requires enabling legislation for demolition and construction to start. The team says it needs those approvals by the end of the year.

The results come as the team seeks the necessary legislation to move forward with demolition and construction.

The four analyses are expected to help stakeholders weigh the value of building a privately funded basketball arena in Center City.
