The Carl Family of Trenton, NJ, honor the anniversary of their son's death by sponsoring a game at Gay Bingo every February. In the documentary, they remember Frankie Carl and recount what their journey to-date has been and what role Gay Bingo has played in their grieving cycle.

About their son and brother, Frank Carl, they remember:
Dot: "He didn't get a chance to go to Gay Bingo because he was sick at the time we started going. I think he would have said, 'Mom, Dad, Rhea, this is my family also. This is me, and my family, these people."

Frank: "You know, it's easy to love a beautiful child. . . when my my son was really affected with AIDS, he lost all of his muscular build, he was skin and bones, drawn out. But when you looked in his eyes, there was nothing you couldn't do."

Rhea: "He really was a very special person, and on thing about Gay Bingo that I absolutely love is all the special loving people you meet there. I mean, it's so wonderful when you can be a part of that."
