WHYY's viewers and listeners are keen supporters who hold a stake in maintaining the television and radio services they care about. As a result, WHYY is the largest membership organization serving the entire Delaware Valley. Our individual membership rolls now total 175,000 households.
But statistics and dollars alone do not tell the membership story. WHYY's continued growth and health ultimately rely on the value our contributors place on WHYY's services and programming. In addition, WHYY members enjoy a variety of benefits, such as:
- The WHYY MemberCard, a tangible symbol of support, has a total of 95 MemberCard partners offering exclusive specials to WHYY members, including discounts on purchases and admissions at area retail establishments and cultural institutions.
- Nearly 1.8 million copies of Applause, WHYY's magazine specifically for members, were sent to WHYY supporters in the last year.
- WHYY Store of Knowledge-with locations at Cherry Hill Mall, Willow Grove Park, The Court at King of Prussia, and two more soon to come at the Christiana and Deptford malls-offered substantial incentives and discounts each month to members.
- The eighth annual 91FM picnic attracted more than 1,100 radio members, the largest turnout to date.
- Members automatically received WHYY's Jubilee of Prizes exclusive sweepstakes packet, with more than 270 prizes donated by local businesses.
- WHYY members received a 10% discount with Videofinders, a telephone service that offers any video currently available, including most PBS presentations.
- WHYY's Member and Audience Services Department answered questions from more than 35,000 callers and letter and e-mail writers.
We salute all of our members for believing in what we do, for watching and listening to the programs we produce and broadcast, and for caring enough to make their generosity such an important part of WHYY's success in serving our communities.
