Overwintering your potted plants

November 10, 2012 — How do you protect potted plants in places with wicked winters? Mike McGrath reviews the basics on keeping plants in containers alive and happy until spring.

Question of the Week

I’ve tried growing Rosemary in my garden without much success. This spring I grew some in a container and it’s done BEAUTIFULLY! My question is whether or not to bring it indoors for the winter. We also have two Lavender plants that are new this year. One is planted in the garden; the other in a container. The one in the container is doing much better. Should we bring it in or leave it out? I finally get a day to look up you web site and read some of the great shows. BUT I click on Get answers and I am unable to get any archive. I did get one article about humming birds. I donate to my local public radio station. Is there a charge to access this information? Is it a pop-up? I have a new lap top with windows 8. Does this have anything to do with it? It is Sunday 1/20/13. Is there some maintenance being done on the website? Please let me know because I like what I see so far, and I catch the YOU BET MY GARDEN whenever I can. LINDA :)
