Listen 00:48:45

Guests: G. Bruce Boyer and Wale Oyejide

Bruce Boyer [From the Radio Times archive] Men: When you get dressed in the morning, do you just throw on the nearest shirt and pants or do you take time to think about what to wear? According to menswear expert G. BRUCE BOYER, getting dressed is an art form that everyone, including men, should master. Boyer, a longtime fashion editor and writer, has a new book out, True Style: The History & Principles of Classic Menswear. We asked him to come in to talk to us about men’s fashion, along with WALE OYEJIDE, designer and the creative director of the apparel company Ikiré Jones, which blends classic menswear with West African style. Oyejide is based in Philadelphia and was named by Esquire Magazines as one of the “best dressed real men in America.” So in this hour — why what you wear matters and advice on creating your own personal style. Also, fashion trends to try out or to avoid. Marty spoke with them last year.
