Guest: Kermit Roosevelt

In this hour of Radio Times, Marty speaks with University of Pennsylvania law professor KERMIT ROOSEVELT on his latest novel Allegiance. After finding out that he’s been rejected for military service after the attack on Pearl Harbor, young law student – Cash Harrison – is given the chance to clerk for Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black. Set in the thick of World War II tension in Washington, Harrison finds himself facing a conspiracy over the fates of West Coast Japanese-Americans who were forcibly relocated to detention camps, an issue working its way through the court. We’ll speak with Roosevelt about his book, and the tension between national security and individual freedoms.
