Is it too easy to get a divorce?

No-fault divorce, which enables a couple to end a marriage without assigning blame to one spouse or another, is legal in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. But over the past few years, there has been a quiet but growing movement to make it harder to get a divorce. In several states, legislators are pushing for waiting periods, required marriage classes and even eliminating no fault divorce all together. Is it time to reform divorce laws and make it more difficult to end a marriage? We’ll explore both sides of the issue with MARGARET KLAW, family law attorney with Berner Klaw & Watson, LLP, and BEVERLY WILLETT, co-chairman Coalition for Divorce Reform.
