For millions of Americans, the day isn’t complete without a daily dose of the crossword puzzle. For some it’s a way to relax, for others it’s a mental challenge. But regardless of their motivation, every puzzler agrees there’s nothing like that “aha” moment when the theme begins to make sense and the last blank square is filled in with pencil or pen (the ideal writing instrument is the subject of much debate). This year marks 100 years since the first crossword puzzle was published. To celebrate, we’ve invited puzzle master MERL REAGLE to join us. He’s just published a new collection of crossword puzzles to commemorate the anniversary.
