Miley Cyrus was the naughty pop singer of the year, Beyonce released an album without telling her fans ahead of time, and the Philadelphia Orchestra played a hometown, pop-up concert. Mandolins and pedal steel have a strong presence in mainstream music and concert halls are programming more cross-over concerts. But were there any stand-out recordings in 2013? We’ve invited three Philadelphia-based guests into our studio to share their playlists for an end-of-the-year listening party: Grammy-winning, record producer AARON LEVINSON, musician and writer, TOM MOON and DJ RICH MEDINA.
