An update of the tri-state’s gambling expansion

November was a big month for the expansion of gaming in the tri-state region. As of last month, Delaware gamblers are able to play blackjack, poker and roulette from home as long as they’re registered through one of the state’s three casinos with proof they’re in Delaware. New Jersey followed a couple weeks later giving six casinos permission for online gambling websites, for those registered in the Garden State. Nevada is the only other state with legal online gambling, with several other states holding their cards for their legislation to pass. And Pennsylvania bars and restaurants have been dealt the legislative hand to host daily drawings, raffles, and pull tab games, starting next year. We’ll examine this industry with three reporters: WHYY’S MARK EICHMANN, Bloomberg’s ELISE YOUNG, and Patriot News and PennLive’s CHARLES THOMPSON.
