Combating Youth Recidivism in Delaware

June 5, 2013

Guests: Chandlee Kuhn, Scott Michels, Brahmin Jackson

While Delaware has been successful in decreasing some types of crime, gun violence among youth has continued to increase. Advocates and government officials are looking for new ways to help young offenders avoid returning to jail by providing improved educational opportunities, mentors and programs focusing on character development. Joining us to talk about the progress being made are CHANDLEE KUHN, chief judge of the Family Court of Delaware, SCOTT MICHELS, of Jewish Family Services of Delaware, and BRAHMIN JACKSON, an ex-offender and current teacher in Media Matters, a program designed to help at-risk youth.
