GUESTS: DAISY FRIED and LYNN LEVIN
“Women’s poetry is like a car – it might have purple lights underneath, or outrageous hubcaps, or an enormous spoiler jutting off the back, but underneath it’s still a car.” You’ll hear more quotes like this from our guest, poet DAISY FRIED. Fried and fellow local poet, LYNN LEVIN, join us to discuss and read from their new poetry collections. They have crossed couplets before – when Levin was selected as the 1999 Bucks County poet laureate, Fried was one of the two judges who chose her. Fried, a former Pew fellow, is the author of three books of poetry and describes her new collection, “Women’s Poetry: Poems and Advice,” as “poetry and mock advice.” Levin’s fourth book of poetry is “Miss Plastique.” She has also co-written a new book, “Poems for the Writing: Prompts for Poets” – an actual book to help poets write better poems.
