This week the Supreme Court heard arguments in two cases related to same-sex marriage. On Tuesday the justices considered Hollingsworth v. Perry, debating the constitutionality of Proposition 8, California’s ban on same-sex marriage. Wednesday, the court turned to a challenge of the Defense of Marriage Act in United States v. Windsor, the 1996 law that prohibits same-sex couples from receiving benefits, like social security, from their spouse. This hour, we get reaction and analysis Supreme Court hearings on gay marriage from two constitutional law experts.
