Immigration reform: reaction and response
January 30, 2013
Yesterday afternoon, President Obama announced his blueprint for immigration reform in response to a set of principles laid out by a bipartisan group of U.S. senators on Monday. The President's plan calls for a quicker path to citizenship with no conditions while the Senate plan ties the path to citizenship to stricter boarder security. Either way, both proposals offer hope to the 11 million undocumented residents living here. We'll get response and reaction to from Temple law professors JAN TING and PETER SPIRO. Ting served as Assistant Commissioner at the Immigration and Naturalization Service of the U.S. Department of Justice and Spiro specializes in international and immigration law and is the author of Beyond Citizenship: American Identity After Globalization.
