Our guest, JON BURLINGAME, ponders whether James Bond’s father, Ian Fleming, would have imagined the billion-dollar industry he created when he first sat down in 1952 to write “Casino Royale.” Part of the Bond legacy, in addition to Q’s innovative murderous gadgets and toxic “Bond Girls,” is the music. Burlingame, a film historian and music writer, has a new book on the 50th anniversary of the 007 franchise, “The Music of James Bond.” The new film, “Skyfall,” is released this week, with a new song by the British singer, Adele.
