A Breeze of Hope & justice for sexual abuse survivors
April 6, 2012
BRISA DE ANGULO is a student at Rutgers School of Law-Camden and a co-founder of Centro Una Brisa De Esperanza (CUBE), or A Breeze of Hope Center — the only place in Bolivia specializing in providing comprehensive assistance for children who are victims of sexual abuse. De Angulo herself was repeatedly raped by an adult family member, whom she tried to challenge in court. Now she’s her country’s leading advocate on behalf of child sexual abuse survivors, leading a revolution in public acknowledgement and justice in a country that had largely ignored these crimes not long ago. De Angulo and her husband, PARKER PALMER, also a Rutgers-Camden School of Law student and co-founder of A Breeze of Hope Foundation, are our guests on today’s Radio Times.
