The rumors that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will eventually join the crowded Republican field running for the 2012 GOP nomination for president just won’t die. But do those rumors say more about Governor Christie, or about the Republican electorate’s conflicted feelings about the announced candidates? And what do Americans know about Christie, and what should they know? We’ll dive into New Jersey politics with two stalwarts of the New Jersey media scene: BOB INGLE, senior political columnist for Gannett’s six New Jersey newspapers and author of the bestselling book, The Soprano State; and DARRYL ISHERWOOD, editor of New Jersey’s most influential political blog, PolitickerNJ.com.
Then, we'll switch gears to get an update on the rapidly evolving situation in Libya, where rebel forces have taken control of much of Tripoli and captured two of Moammar Qaddafi's sons. We'll hear from University of New England political scientist ALI AHMIDA, a Libyan native and expert on the revolutionary movement there.
