The World of Fake News with The Onion's Joe Garden and Chad Nackers

Many newspapers have been eliminated and traditional news organizations are trying to find a home online. Here’s a twist: Philadelphians have been reading The Onion online and, as of this winter, the print edition of the satirical newspaper is now available in green boxes on our streets. Since the newspaper’s founding in the late '80s in Madison, Wisconsin, the parody outfit has developed two cable TV shows: The Onion News Network on IFC and The Onion Sports Network on Comedy Central. Other formats include their very-important sounding online “The Onion Radio News” and The A.V. Club, a serious supplement to the paper and an online site featuring pop-culture news, interviews, features, reviews and TV, film and music listings. Our guests, features editor JOE GARDEN and senior writer CHAD NACKERS, will join us to discuss their World of Fake News.
