Debating the DREAM Act
December 13, 2010
The House narrowly passed the DREAM Act last week but now it has stalled in the Senate. The DREAM ACT, or the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act, would grant legal status to illegal immigrants who came to this country as children if they attend two years of college or serve in the military. This hour, guest host Tracey Matisak talks about the bill with DOUGLAS MASSEY, a Professor of Sociology at Princeton University and STEVE CAMAROTA, Director of Research for the Center for Immigration Studies. And, Rutgers University student MARISOL CONDE-HERNANDEZ explains what the DREAM Act means to her.
