Protecting Tigers

Wednesday, November 17th, 2010

Hour 2

Tigers are in peril.  There are only around 3200 tigers left in the wild.  This weekend, scientists and diplomats will gather in St. Petersburg, Russia for a tiger summit to discuss how to save the world’s biggest cat.  Poaching and loss of habitat are responsible for pushing tigers to the brink of extinction.   This hour, Marty talks with ERIC DINERSTEIN, chief scientist of the World Wildlife Fund, and JOHN VAILLANT, the author of the new book The Tiger: The True Story of Vengeance and Survival, about how to save tigers.
