Hour 1
Some academics say it is time to reexamine the role that culture plays in the cycle of poverty. A recent New York Time’s article examining the trend titled ‘Culture of Poverty,’ once an Academic Slur, Makes a Comeback” has sparked a fiery debate about the culture/poverty link. Our guests include CAMILLE CHARLES, Professor of Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania, MARIA KEFALAS, Associate Professor of Sociology at Saint Joseph’s University, and MARIANA CHILTON, Professor of Health Management and Policy at Drexel University.
