Last week a federal judge in San Francisco overturned California’s Proposition 8 (the California Marriage Protection Act, a ballot initiative and amendment passed in November 2008) as it discriminates against gay men and women. Will it be appealed? Will it get kicked up to the Supreme Court? We’ll discuss Judge Vaughn R. Walker and the federal constitutional law behind the his ruling with JOHN AVLON, senior political columnist for The Daily Beast; STACEY SOBEL, assistant professor of law at Western State University; and TED RUGER law professor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School who specializes in American constitutional law.
