Monday, June 14th, 2010
Hour 1
The out-of-control BP oil spill is spewing up to 25,000 to 30,000 barrels of oil a day, up from the former estimates of 12,000 to 19,000 barrels into the ravaged Gulf of Mexico. We'll do an update on how the Deepwater Horizon platform explosion and BP's inability to stop the leak affects more than just those living on the coast. "TIME" science reporter BRYAN WALSH joins us to discuss what he has learned developing his report, "On the Edge" featured in the June 14th issue of "TIME." Also Temple University engineering chair and hydrologist MICHEL BOUFADEL will help us understand the future implications of this disaster. The last few years, he’s been in Alaska researching the effects of the Exxon Valdez oil spill.
