KORNBLUT argues in her new book, Notes from the Cracked Ceiling: Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin and What It Will Take for a Woman to Win, that the U.S. is not quite ready for a female president. Kornblut, the Washington Post’s White House correspondent, conducted extensive and exclusive interviews with many leading female politicians. She offers a blunt, honest look at the role of women in politics today, and suggests what needs to be done for them to break through that cracked ceiling.
